ISRAEL’S U.S.-SUPPORTED WAR ON GAZA, YEMEN, LEBANON, AND IRAN: A LESSON FOR AFRICAN REVOLUTIONARIES.

The ongoing Israeli occupation and expansion into Palestinian territories, justified by questionable pretexts, clearly reveal Israel’s colonial ambitions in the region to those who are objective.

The U.S.’s unwavering support for these actions only underscores its alignment with Israel. Historically, the U.S. has consistently sided with colonial oppressors, or attempted to replace them, while simultaneously proclaiming itself as a defender of human rights. This double standard has been evident in its global actions.

The toll on Palestine—more than 40,000 civilian deaths and widespread destruction, including attacks on United Nations personnel—resulting from U.S.-supplied advanced weaponry, has exposed the lies the U.S. perpetuates. At the same time, in the war in Ukraine, the U.S. claims to be protecting the weak, highlighting the deep contradictions within its imperialist agenda.

For the first time in modern history, the world is witnessing this hypocrisy on a global scale. The U.S., which has long used military force to justify its actions as protective of human rights, now openly supports Israel in its oppressive campaign, shattering any remaining illusion of moral high ground.

It would be misleading to suggest the U.S. was ever truly committed to human rights, despite what its academic defenders may argue. The U.S. itself was built on the genocide of over 10 million Indigenous Americans. Therefore, it’s not surprising that nations born from such colonial violence continue to support Israel or work to maintain what they refer to as the post-World War II Western order. This order is nothing more than a global system of exploitation, enforced by unfair trade deals and, when necessary, military intervention.

Israel’s actions leave little to admire, despite its efforts to portray itself as the victim through propaganda. What has become clear is that the will of a people determined to be free cannot be crushed by even the most sophisticated weapons or by fear tactics, supported by powerful colonial allies.

Recent missile and drone strikes from Iran and Yemen, which penetrated Israel’s air defenses, have shattered the myth of Israel’s regional invulnerability. These developments have only strengthened the resolve of those resisting colonial occupation, proving that a determined resistance can outlast and ultimately overcome even the most powerful forces, as long as it perseveres.

For Africa, there are important lessons to be learned. The U.S. military presence on African soil, along with the exploitative policies enforced by Western-backed leaders masquerading as democratically elected officials, must be confronted. Strategies to dismantle this system need to be developed and applied without delay, but with determination. The intensity of the resistance should grow in proportion to the entrenchment of neocolonial regimes across Africa until Pan-Africanism becomes the driving force behind the continent’s rapid reconstruction and sovereignty.
