The ACUP (African Continental Unity Party) believes that President Akuffo Addo, following the arrival of the managing director of the International Monetary fund Georgieva Kristalina in the country is conniving with his neocolonial friends to disrespect the people through their representatives the members of parliament. The Ghanaian people do not believe that any amount of money can and should buy our African Culture.
Following the president’s refusal to all the passed bill to proceed to his office suggests that he is above accountability and the people who voted him can go to hell, if the president’s neocolonial masters in Washington want something, he is showing how he would disregard the people of the country he leads for the neocolonial interests. This irony speaks to the President’s hypocrisy, considering that he joined ECOWAS in condemning Niger because he thought it undemocratic. It is indeed unimaginable considering that the president is daily trampling on the democratic institutions of the country he leads to the protest of the Country’s Speaker of Parliament.
The ACUP’s position is clear, while our priority is the uplifting of our people and Rapid upward social economic mobility for all through industrialisation, science and technology, we cannot disregard the values that make up the fabric of our society and therefore distinguish us as an African people from any other cultures across the world.
This means that for us, the interests of our people must and should be honoured. The fundamental values agreed on by majorly of our society shall always be respected and protected. In support of the country’s Speaker of Parliament, we call on the president to immediately without delay sign into law the bill passed by the people’s house (The Parliament of Ghana)
